Hmm, Toulouse huh? Well, despite what the English papers say, it isn't exactly a bad draw for Liverpool, compared to Rangers, Celtic and Arsenal, plus the fact that it's only a short air (or train) journey to France means the Reds don't have to worry about the time difference, but still, best to show some respect and prudence for a Ligue 1 team.
OTOH, the media thinks just because France's Euro ranking is high they think that any French team is tough, while disregarding the dominance of Lyon in recent years. No disrespect intended to anyone from Toulouse, but if Liverpool can't beat them, then they don't deserve to be in the Champions League.
Spoiler for rant on perceived media bias:
These English media seem to show more respect to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal than they do to Rafa Benitez and Liverpool, simply because Wenger has won the Premiership before, while Benitez only has a big-eared cup to show for. I don't think the media will ever respect Liverpool until they win the Premiership.
It's already this bad in England, here in Asia it's even worse, where the media basically ignore Liverpool, despite the large fan base here which is at least second to Man United's, if not first. And only give them the occasional token mention.
If it weren't for the fact that the Barclays Asia Trophy tournament was organized by the Premier League themselves, the papers probably wouldn't even bother "wasting their time" with the Reds.
To list an example, a HK newspaper dedicates a whole page to write about Man United visiting Macau, a city next to HK, while only half a page to talk about Liverpool's arrival in HK airport. OK, I admit Utd have been very successful compared to Liverpool, but even some of my United-supporting schoolmates (I admit some Utd fans can be reasonable as well
) thinks this is a bit too much.
Sparta Prague are pretty much Champions League regulars, let's see how Arsenal can cope with life after Henry.
Both Scottish clubs too have it tough, Celtic vs Spartak Moscow and Rangers vs possibly Red Star Belgrade, both Eastern European powerhouses.
These two ties also look quite juicy:
Fenerbahce vs Anderlecht
Sevilla vs AEK Athens
