The funny thing is, Da Capo was originally written 3 years after Kanon. When Kanon was first released, it was considered fairly revolutionary, seeing as many later stories of the same genre borrow to various extent from Kanon.

I've never actually seen Da Capo personally, though. Romantic dramas aren't usually my thing; I only followed Kanon for Kyoto Animation and Sugita Tomokazu, and it did not disappoint. Still haven't even seen Air yet either...
