A couple that hook up because both can’t get the person they love? It might work between two certain characters in
Shinsekai Yori, but there, the guy they were aiming for had to die a gruesome death first

As for the ending, I wish Dera really left the shopping district since I think it’s kinda silly that he just came right back again after previously saying that serious farewell to Dai-Otosan. I think Dera's leaving at the end would be a perfect drama for the finale of this series.
