Spoiler for episode 2:

Well that was an intense game of chicken, I thought it was a nice touch to see some of the crew on the military ships getting worried, even though they mostly seemed to be worried about Maya. The subs on ViKi made it sound like Maya might be a time traveler but I saw someone else speculate that she could be from a space colony and that idea makes a lot more sense, not sure why that would make her so special however.
