That's my personal opinion.
From the most crucial one to the extreme:
1. Understand English (No shit)

1.5: Be able to fix wiki codes and such (not necessary)

2. Be able to find out typos
3. Be able to fix punctuation
4. Be able to fix words spelling and grammar
5. Be able to find words that suit the context better

Following isn't necessary either:
6. Be able to type/search basic (translated from) language in a dictionary + correct the words mistakes. (Preferably Japanese)
7. Be able to understand the Japanese grammar and words.
When you reach 7, become a translator instead.
