Continues off from where volume 7 left off. Akira found out that Akihisa's brought porn magazines to school. (In volume 7, Class 2-F bet with the principal that they would get back their confiscated items if they win the baseball tournament. They did, but the principal returns it to them (guardians). Naturally, Akihisa was brought out for punishment (i.e. shop with Akira). On the way, they went to take part in a little lottery. After winning all sorts of weird things besides tissues (4th, 3rd and 2nd are metal bats of what 100,000 yen and so on value), they get the 6th prize, a pile of seafood (all really good stuff). They then meet Mizuki on the way. Akira comments that they can't finish the food, so yeah, Akira and Mizuki will be cooking at Akihisa's place. But of course, things won't be funny enough if it's just Akihisa, so he decides to call his little friends.

The other 2 guys + 1 ladette arrive at Akihisa's house, all in a good mood, only to see Mizuki dressed with an apron on her (with clothes underneath, goodness...). As Akihisa locked the door beforehand, everyone's left to wait for their fates as Akira and Mizuki prepare dinner (double trouble). Mizuki comes out to ask for something, Akihisa agrees, and Mizuki asks for instant glue (just imagine the look on everyone's face). Akihisa tries to convince her that instant glue shouldn't be used. Mizuki agrees, and says that the reason is that the pressure cooker broke in half. Yuuji immediately bolted, only to be stopped by Shouko, Minami and Aiko. Our candidates for execution are set.

Mizuki comments that she got a little failure. Aiko suggests a hotpot. Problem is Mizuki insists on making the soup base. Akira suggests a dark hot pot. Mizuki goes back to get a pot as Akihisa doesn't have one. The other 3 girls decide to prepare something as well.

When the girls come back with a seafood salad (prepared mainly by Shouko), Akira gets wine, the others get fruit juice, and Akihisa gets tabasco (from Minami, angry that Akihisa invited Mizuki first and not her). Akihisa asks around for a drink, and Akira tries to mouth-feed him. Of course, Shouko tries to do the same thing to Yuuji by slipping tabasco into his drink. In this series, alcohol + human = funny. Akira gets drunk, gets Akihisa to sit on her lap and gives a cooldown hug. Akihisa gets away, Akira gets over to hug him, and Akihisa thinks his new nickname is 'siscon'.

Mizuki comes back with the pot, while Akira passed out from drunkeness. In dark hot pot, everyone has to get one random ingredient. The girls get tabasco, and since it's his kitchen, Akihisa deduces that Hideyoshi got spring onion, Muttsurini got carrot, and Yuuji got beancurd. Mass death-note-esque planning ensues between Akihisa and Yuuji as they fight for survival.

Once the hotpot's done, Akihisa does the honors of taking out the first food item--a completely corroded piece of yam. Before Minami can tuck in, Yuuji leads everyone with the Lord's prayer, and the girls try the soup. Shouko comments that it's a little weird, and Yuuji heard that in his head. Naturally, all 3 girls got a near-death experience. After they recover, they get the 3 guys (ladette excluded) to drink up. The trio managed to keep their feet from Hades though, since they've been through so much 'training'.

As the rest head back, Mizuki stays behind to clear up. A news report shows that a plane is stuck in another country, and Mizuki's parents, who were in that country to attend a wedding, couldn't come back to Japan. As Mizuki's a lone child, Akira suggests that Mizuki stays with them for the time being, which leads to the events in volume 8 and 9.

Mizuki wins. Damn it. So, what is Minami's reaction when she learn about this? Also, is this the first time for the girls (Aiko, Shouko, Minami and Akira) to realize that Mizuki can't cook?
