Does this story has any romance on it? it looks to me that Izayoi is just your battle hunger guy. Reminds me of Lancer. Trying to fight strong opponents that won't bore him.

Yup, the third arc is the first "big" arc in Mondaiji.

Spoiler for Vol02:

In the second volume they go to the Northern Region of Miniature Garden to the "Festival of the Birth of the Red Dragon". There they are involved in a Gift Game by a Demon Lord.

The anime can look rushed because Mondaiji's first volume was very fast in terms of development. There was a lot happening in their first days at Miniature Garden.

Yes, he is the main villain of Vol01.

Spoiler for Romance?:

Well, there are some scenes involving Izayoi teasing Black Rabbit that can influence something in this sense later, but for now, nothing.

Izayoi is really the type of character you're thinking. But even so, he is a good guy at heart.
