I wont deny it because in a way you're right. She's confident and proud in her abilities.
But that's where character development comes into play. I've no doubt that she'll eventually change for the better if that only means to be more humble.

You'd be quite surprised actually. A lot of us Sheryl lovers
don't Hate Ranka at all, in fact a lot of us like Ranka as well. I myself quite like Ranka as a character, just not with Alto.
Unfortunately, we just happen to like Sheryl more and side with her all things Alto and then some.
