The anime ending was bittersweet....but I am surprised how many posts complained pages ago and did not catch the hopeful parts where Shirou's monologue in the bridge said that if he keeps those feelings in his heart and if he continues to reach his "goal," they may meet again. All while Saber saying she just had a wonderful "dream" and how she intends to sleep longer for that "dream."
In short: there is that hope that they will meet, again!
Be lucky you had that "hopeful" ending in this anime....other animes ended with no such hope.
