Um, what are you talking about? Almost every Anime I listed under "Favorite Series" had romance play a noticeable role in the main plot. Zoids and Gundam Wing were the only series to have little to no romance, and if you're really pushing the qualifications on romance, NGE and FLCL too.
As to why I made a list, the main reason was because I didn't want to waste people's time by having them recommend series that I've already seen. I made 2 lists to give them an idea of what I liked.

I whole-heartedly disagree, dunno what you call all-out romance/shoujo series if you consider most of those having romance play a noticeable role in the main plot.
