It'll be directed by
Kazuki Akane (Escaflowne, Heat Guy J, Noein) and the character designs are by
Ryochimo (who is awesome, see dock battle in Noein #12 and much much much more). The chief storywriter is
Hiroshi Ohnogi (Gundam Seed, Aquarion, Noein, what else...) and the creative producer is
Yutaka Izubuchi (tons of design work, RahXephon director)
With this staff you'd expect the production studio to be Satelight, but nope - it's
A-1 Pictures, team behind Ookiku Furikabatte etc.

You know, I probably won't feel inclined to watch this if it wasn't for the promise of good animators coming along (and me looking forward a bit to see what Akane's directing after Noein) but it also helps if it's short.
I never watched the original, but I'm sure some folks here have.
