Details: The series should have been started at least 14 years ago since that was when I read it in Chinese.
Characters I remember:
Main character: The main character is a high school boy who falls in love with a girl in his class. He tries to get her to like him back, but usually gives her the wrong idea one way or the other. He seems to be easily coerced into doing things.
Main character's Love interest: The girl he likes reflexively attacks any male that touches her, possibly because her father left her when she was a child. The reflex gradually dies down for the main character as they become closer and she views him as just a friend (much to his chagrin). She attracts a lot of males and seems to have a fanclub. Her family owns a restaurant specializing is japanese pancakes/pizza (okonomiyaki?). Has short black hair.
Girl that likes main character: She was once very obese and got made fun of a lot. When the main character showed her kindness, she fell in love with him and ate less so she could lose weight and be attractive to him. Most of the series shows her in her skinny form. She has long black hair. Her family consists of a father, mother, little brother, and cat. All are obese and find it absurd to eat less than 20 bowls of rice a meal. Teary-eyes are her signature move to make people do what she wants.
Doll-like thing/person: A student that looks more like a doll than a human (looks like he would be about knee-level to the normal students if they stood on equal ground). He loves pretty boys and harasses the main character a lot. Also enjoys sabotaging main character's attempts with his love interest. Defies the laws of physics by stretching/bending in absurd ways.
