There's a good reason Charles is evacuated to Chifuyu's room.
In shonen anime, there's a distinct, blurred boundary between romance and sexuality. A guy being sexual deviant doesn't mean he will focus on romance, and vice versa, a romantic guy with a crush doesn't mean he was actively chasing the girl for pleasure. Ichika in ST is normal guy with hormone, but still not eager about romance and stuff because he's not ready.
In more explicit series, this boundary often does not exist
