Yeah, Youkai was kinda more what I had in mind. I just didn't really know the correct term.

Have you read this yet?
No characters appear in this who have not appeared in canon at some point before or during E8. I'm not that much of an asshole.

I had read that before, though now I think I understand more of it, given what you and Kogetsu have said.
I'm gonna have to make a list of all canon, female characters introduced in the series up through Endless Eight, though. This is seriously stumping me.
Edit: Alright, I couldn't find anyone that I thought could be
Midori, so I must be missing something. However, going over the poem Kaisos posted, I have come to a few conclusions on the nature of
Midori.
Spoiler for Theory of Midori:
Whoever
Midori is, she at some point gained powers similar to Haruhi's. However, there is a difference between hers and Haruhi's; whereas the latter makes the user's desires come true,
Midori's only allows her to make other people's desires come true:
"I have the power to grant wishes, except my own." This explains many of the "Monsters from the Id" qualities she displays in her speech and (what are presumably) her actions, such as giving Kyonko slider abilties. Most notably, it also explains the
Grass is Always Greener scene, as she is unleashing all of Kyonko's hidden desires in her mind (of course, this also means that Kyonko has
a lot of issues repressed in her mind.
)
As for why she is doing this?
Judging from her speech, just plain boredom.
Speculating is fun!
