Overruled! Manga Elsie (like all the manga designs) has a cute simplicity that no (admittedly slight) tilt toward generic moefication can improve upon.
That said, Kanon's is the closest to the manga designs so far, so I agree with karuroso in spirit, if not exactly word for word...
Though I think we can all agree that ep1 Nikaido is their most egregious design
failure...
