It's almost like a testing phase. They can see what problems come out and then fix them before they send the new batch. That's pretty smart and courteous if you ask me. That way they don't waste their time making millions of units with glitches. Then they release the new units without the glitches at an even lower price, opening their market even more and selling at a pretty constant and steady rate.

Maybe it's just me...but shouldn't major glitches/defects be fixed by their quality control area? and not through the actual consumer giving them the money?
