What's amusing is this anime based off the AKB48 (or whatever) that some otaku absolutely hate turned out to be more interesting than an anime by KyoAni, which many otaku love(?).
Not that I care about either, but the episode really was pretty interesting. The very beginning made me go
very much, but once it settled down and actually started telling the story, it was surprisingly good.
And the voices weren't too bad either, though it did kind of stand out poorly.
What's the need for this anime to be based off the AKB48?
Nothing, really, considering the setting isn't even in present day...
*shrug*
Still pretty good first episode though.
