Well that was all pretty informative, let the speculation/discussion begin (not that we have tons to go on but oh well :P )!

Well, if all the characters are on Earth now I guess that bit at the end of the last episode of the original series WAS set on Earth, although that creates a ton of other questions. Sounds like the setting/plot is going to be a war between two countries, like the original, and it sounds like they want this series to be more fast-paced as well (I think they were referring to the story with the 1.5 remark, not the production).
