At first, as a yuri fanboy i was :-(
Then, as they discuss various things, i was :-|
And then when lyrics of Magia suddenly allude to Mami, (have i mentioned that i'm a yuri fanboy?) i was (^_^)
And then... i... >____>
And now i ;_;
Spoiler for eps3 summary:
- Sayaka visits that Kamijo guy. It seems that she's a fan of him. Normally this kind of thing makes me HHHNNNGGG, but since my OT3 is Sayaka x Madoka x Homura...
- Sayaka and Madoka discuss just what kind of wish they want to present as an exchange for a life of magica girl.
- Madoka's mom comes home drunk. When Madoka asks to her dad just why her mom keep going through all those corporate shit, Madoka's dad says that it's because the mom is someone who likes to do her best. Madoka compares her with her own situation.
- Homura tells Mami to quit it with those two girls, since this magical girl has nothing to do with them. Mami responds by saying that because they're Kyubey's chosens (%$%@#%$), they're no longer "unrelated people".
- Barrier outbreak in Kamijo's hospital. Sayaka stays behind with Kyubey to keep watch of things while Madoka gets Mami. IMO, that's a serious case of Idiot Ball.
- Mami and Madoka dispatched to the barrier. When Homura appears, Mami paralyze her. Goddamned Idiot Ball...
- Madoka tells Mami about her thoughts about being a magical girl. It's mostly silly things, like how she akogare Mami. Mami's facade breaks. We see Mami's tragic past and the reason she lives alone. When Madoka tells Mami about how she will stay by her side in her bitter struggle, Mami actually shed tears and honestly smiles. My yuri goggles broke.
- They confront the Witch (Adelbert, isn't it?). Mami fights with newly gained resolve. The Witch goes One Winged Angel... and gruesomely kills Mami. Sayaka and Madoka is horrified. Kyubey politely offers either or both of them to make the contract. But Homura, now free from Mami's bind, fights and defeats the Witch.
- <Homura> (to Sayaka and Madoka) "This is the world of magical girl."
- ED animation actually appears. And whoo boy, ain't that GRIMDARK.
Now, will you excuse me, i need to cry in a Fetal Position in my Corner Of Woe somewhere.
