You are looking at end result and not the reason behind. Kyosuke and his did's conversation before that shows that. By worthy, it doesn't necessary mean wealth or status. The point there are that Kyosuke and his dad are both stereotypes. People like Daisuke are mostly viewed as playboys and they are not convince that Daisuke is really commit to the relation.
