I'm pretty sure mentioning Meteor City now has no real impact on the narrative or continuity.
It seems the anime is starting to take more and more liberties with it though. So far that hasn't been a bad thing though. If the 'filler' comes in small bits and pieces like this and remains like this, I wouldn't mind.
