Female protagonist of the story. Born Sept 30, 2032. 3rd year student in Umesato Junior High school (2nd year at the start of the story). Vice-president of the Student Council. Nicknamed 'Snow Black Princess due to her beautiful appearance, called by another nickname 'Sa-chan' by Fuuko and Utai.
Her name is not mentioned in the light novels, but under the author's web name 'Kunori Fumio', prior to winning Dengenki grand prize and rewriting the first volume of AW, he wrote at the end KYH admitted her name was
黑羽雪子（くろば ゆきこ）(Kuroba Yukiko). However there is still a probability author the name has since been changed by the author. Originally she lived in Kouwan Ward [港区] together with her sister, the White King White Cosmos. However after she attempted RL PK on her after being tricked, she was exiled from the house for 'psychiatric recovery', and has a lawyer for her legal guardian. Presently living in Suginami Asagaya Ward.
Due to the large amount of playtime in the Unlimited Field, her mental age greatly surpasses her physical age. Normally expressionless, she has waist-length black hair, and dresses in black all over. Normally earnest and easy-mannered, at times rash and hotheaded. Became a Burst Linker at age 8. Betrayed Six Kings of Pure Colour as the Black King. She took notice of Haruyuki after discovering his extremely fast reaction speeds, and later on developed feelings for him, confessing to him while in a state of acceleration and even giving him a kiss. In volume 9, she brought Haru to her home in the real world and confessed to him again. She has had to use acceleration to break Haruyuki's high scores in the Virtual Squash game, and thus invited Haru to become her partner. She used the command "Physical Full Burst" to protect Haru, and as a result was hit by the car Araya drove and was seriously injured.
While normally prudent and generous to others, when other girls (Chiyuri, Fuuko, Rin, Niko, etc) are physically close to Haru she gets hot-tempered and unhappy easily.
Once, she stayed over at Haru's house upon hearing Niko was staying there. Another time, she stayed over a second time, alone with Haru, giving the reason of 'bad weather.' They were found out by Fuuko the second day, and she too gave an excuse of "sleeping over at Haru's house this month" to stay together with KYH and Haru under the same roof. When she's with Haru, she neglects the people around her, not bothering to hide her love for him. Sometimes though, she gets thrown by some of Haru's words, such as the times he asks her to "stay by his side forever" and "eat dinner with him everyday."
In school, her net avatar is a "Black Swallowtail Butterfly". The body of the avatar is identical to her real-life self, with pure-white skin, long black hair. The avatar's dress is oily black bordered by silver, and she holds a parasol concealing a sword.

Black Lotus
Nickname: Lotus. Black-coloured duel avatar, first appeared as a Level 9, and is one of the Seven Pure Colour Kings. One evening at a King's meeting two years before, Lotus executed the first-generation Red King via OHKO sneak attack to prevent the completion of the Enhanced Armament 'Seven Roses.' Afterwards she fought against the remaining Kings, but within the 30 minute time limit, she did not manage to kill another King.
The next day, Lotus and old NN members went to the Unlimited Field in a gamble, they offered to use Burst Points, buy Enhanced Armaments and offer those as an apology (to Prominence), but was rejected. They worked out a battle plan to penetrate the Imperial City, but got thwarted by the countermeasure enemies there and subsequently broke up: the last member was felled by the two-minute mark, most members were caught in Endless Kill mode. The members who successfully escaped lost a lot of BP due to the Four Gods. Lotus, branded a traitor, fled to Umesato Junior High school net to hide and never contacted the rest of old NN members.
The avatar 'Black Lotus' stands 1.70 metres tall, the head's visor is a tilted-back 'V' shape. The slender body is entirely clad in black armour, has swords for its limbs and flower-shaped armour {I presume they mean the skirt}. Lotus is one of the few 'levitation-type' duel avatars in AW. Has earned the nickname 'World's End.'
Lotus has a passive ability called 'Terminating Sword.' Her other special skills are 'Death By Barraging' (Level 4), 'Death By Piercing' (Level 5), and 'Death By Embracing' (Level 8).
In V2, she helped Rain hunt 5th CD and counter-attack Radio who had ambushed Rain. In V4, to save Crow's and Pile's collective asses, she Dived into UNF from Okinawa, tamed the Legendary-class enemy and ran for 15 hours straight to Umesato school grounds cum battle stage, using mind power to restrain Vise. In old NN, she and Raker targeted the West Gate together. During the rescue mission to retrieve Maiden, she used 'Overdrive - Mode Red' and the skill 'Vorpal Strike' to taunt Suzaku and draw aggro. In outer space area, together with Raker and Crow, Lotus used the 16-hit combo Incarnate technique 'Starburst Stream', cutting down Suzaku's last health bar to half full.
The principle idea of 'Overdrive', 'Over-Ray phenomenon', and 'Zero-Fill' are the same, that being of intense imagining of 'Positive Self-image.' From this, Black Lotus, originally an avatar with colourless properties, can set herself into three possible 'Modes':
-Mode Red (Imagining the avatar being remapped to one with long-range affinity)
-Mode Blue (Imagining the avatar being remapped to one with close-range affinity)
-Mode Green (Imagining the avatar being remapped to one with defensive affinity)
In V12, when describing the first {and lethal} King's meeting at a time several months later, Lotus discovered by chance the Enhanced Armament 'Seven Roses' had transferred to her Storage, and truly understood its meaning and implications after using it.
Seven Roses saga: The White king approached KYH and showed her a gun made by Red Rider, claiming that one of it would be given to every legion, would only be usable when your legion is attacked, and never missed, had infinite ammo and devastating power. She made a demonstration of the power of the gun, and said it was to be a deterrent that would make it impossible to attack another legion, as the defending side would always win, essentially enforcing the truce regardless of the other king's opinions.
KYH kills him with the intention of stopping the making of the other guns. However, after the destruction of NN, while she was already in hiding, she notices that, when she killed Rider, one of the guns was transferred to her inventory, as sometimes happens when you kill someone. The weapon is unlocked, but it won't fire. She realized he made it that way as a symbol of peace. She runs to her sister's room to accuse her, to which she only agrees to everything, smiling. Hime tried to force her into a duel with a box cutter, but her sister tells her not to do that, as she doesn't want to take even brain burst away from her. Hime, realizing she could never win, ends up stabbing her in the hand, and that's how she was thrown out of the house.
Note: The white king is her one year older sister and her Parent. She doesn't possess any physical attack power, and she doesn't appear in front of anybody besides her legions top lieutenants. KYH mentions she used to fight in the very beginning of Brain Burst (implying she is an originator), but that she used something, either an ability or a enhanced armament, that made her enveloped with light so the opponent couldn't see her form (essentially confirming she is the person with Black Vise in the Chrome disaster back-story).
