I figure it was just an ingrained military-like daily routine. Wake up, have the bed made and be changed into your uniform before the drill-seargent comes into the barracks, or something similar. Or rather,
get up and do those things, as you will probably accomplish most of those tasks while still mostly asleep, as she demonstrated.
