But where's the melodrama in that? Just think: when the hero is about to finally get over the death of her (almost) girlfriend and move on with another girl, bam! said almost-girlfriend appears out of nowhere as an enemy vampire-cyborg-mecha!

Oh, but he really wanted to pilot this mecha. I had to laugh when he was in the cockpit, randomly pushing buttons, pretty much going "move dammit, you're a mecha, I'm supposed to have my roaring rampage of revenge now!"
