Well... You can't actually blame Zero either. His entire family was killed by a Vampire and then he got turned into a vampire by the same person who killed his parents. He became a vampire that hated vampires with passion.

If that wasn't enough the girl he loves turns out to be a pure blood vampire. That's like adding insult to injury! No one could recover fast enough from these shocking revelations. I believe it hasn't even been a week that Yuuki turning out to be a vampire, Rido, his brother dying from his hands in VK's world. Heck... I'm surprised he didn't go insane!

If everything, I would blame Yuuki all of these. He wanted to die by Yuuki's hands. And when Kaname came in and tries to kill Zero, Yuuki stopped him. When Zero's gun is killing him, Yuuki saved him.

He should've died right there! Yet he has been saved over and over again by Yuuki! He hates vampires and vampires doesn't like him. He can't coexist with humans as he is a vampire! vampire hunters are out to kill him! What else is waiting for him? Nothing! No wonder he's so emo right now!

Zero not dying in this chapter means that there is a bigger plot between Zero and Yuuki. He being alive is all because of Yuuki. Without Yuuki he would be dead! That's why I said earlier. The only way Kaname ending up with Yuuki is if Zero will die.

Yuuki is in the exact same situation though.

her parents were killed by her uncle. then she had all of her memories taken away from her. after that, she is attacked by a vampire.

we don't see Yuuki going insane after learning about her past, what happened to her parents, and what she truly is.
