Yamamotos had his power neutralized or turned back against him in the past 3 major filler arcs in the anime too (Amagai, Zanpaktou, Mod Soul). Looks like these bad guys might have a bankai neutralizer =/ Here we go again
Makes me wonder if Ichigo was able to break free because he's not just a regular shinigami or just raw strength.
(also note historical insight with the 5 days, not sure we'll get a 5 year timeskip though)
