Some other software utilities for keeping your Windows based PC in tip top shape
Auslogics DiskDefrag (Free) - fast, much more thorough than your XP/Vista defrag. My experience has been it gets an additional 5% more than your standard defrag.
HDTune (free) - HDD benchmarking and error checking tool
DriveImageXML (free) - makes an image of your HDD on another HDD. Useful for backup of complete systems
Darik's Boot and Nuke (free) - For security uses, completes wipes HDD, any data is unrecoverable once used. Reputed to defeat all known forensic analysis.
ATItool (free) overclocking utilty for video cards, works on both NVidia and ATI cards despite its name.
RIVAtuner (free) similar to ATItool
Crystal CPUID - On the fly overclocking with multiplier management
Also those with AMD X2 CPU's don't forget to download and run AMD's dual core optimizer.
With the overclocking stuff, just take it easy and go little by little.
