Is what I would've liked to say, but this episode had foreshadowing to an event that might take the girls by storm (Check episode 9 preview to know what I'm talking about *spoilers obviously*)

We also got confirmation to Rio's linage as well, which many have already speculated and has been hinted at since the beginning, plus some more clues to a grander finale, with her being asked to save the country.

But aside from that, I really liked the part where the priest and the kids showed up and started to cause trouble to Kanata, with the boy displaying some friendliness to her.

My only complaint is how Kanata magically found out about the whole underground dealings the fortress maidens have been involved in.

Anime no Chikara Meeting, Hour 1039, Day 7th February. Not too many spoilers but nothing of note.
Director: Okay guys. We're up to the 8th episode. The plot of this episode revolves around a foreboding phone and waiting for a phone call.
Worker 1: So in short, we have to watch someone get bored waiting for a call. Sounds realistic enough. What a great slice of life. Except, how do we make it interesting?

Director: Great idea but the otakus were also annoyed about episode 7. Too much suffering and not enough moe. We got to get them back god damn it!

Spoiler for Final thoughts:

Most boring episode ever while it was still a bit funny with all the epic fail in the episode. Except I had to watch someone getting bored. Although there was still some room for Speculah I do wish at the end the officer at the end could have noted there was a declaration of war over the reparations and territorial lines. Looks like war is about to break out thanks to this guy right here.


And hell, I only spent 20 minutes watching this because the whole point of episode 8 was a tease into the possibility of a war breaking out. But instead what we got was more Kanata fail. But it does bring up more questions about Rio and if she is royalty.

Over at Japan, otakus are rejoicing for fetish fuel. Yeah enjoy that but give me some more seriousness next time as well thanks.

Though I kept on thinking Noel must have some ulterior motive for staying in the hangar all day. Surely she wasn't just sleeping the whole day away.

And now a return to the part of the show that I find appealing and am glad is still its majority.

I'd much rather they be serious when they have to be serious. Readiness for combat can't be understated and is a crucial matter. And quite frankly I found the plot ridiculous and just written for light-heartedness for a plot that teased belligerence with the mention of breakdowns in peace treaty talks. Noel was at the base and yet she was purposely written out for great fetish pandering. If this is 70 percent slice of life and 30 percent serious military life. I expect that garrison life to be represented to the best of it's ability. And so far it's done just that. We see training exercises, girls having to walk up a mountain with heavy backpacks (they weren't running but it was a start and who knows maybe they will start running 3 miles up and 3 miles down without complaints) and that has been enough to keep me satisfied in the least. However what I really dislike about this episode was that they went from the heavy content in episode 7 and a near complete dose of moe in episode 8 complete with cute costumes, fetish pandering etc etc.

Now in episode 9 and 10 they better have some damn guns or something more interesting better happen in the background. Damn it, pick up a gun soldier.
