Tough luck for Tsumugi. Last Order was one of the third place finishers who were actually strong enough to beat her. However, she wouldn't have done well in the regular season so maybe she is lucky in a way.
End of the line for Kagami which means another one of the 2008 Top 16 is dropping out. Kagami was 7th in 2008 and, excluding Fate, is the highest ranked 2008 character to miss a regular season. It was a hard fought match against Nymph but Kagami just didn't have what it took in the end. Konata makes it through but I get the feeling that 2013 may be Konata's last year.
A great performance by Kirishima Shouko nearly gets her into the regular season early by knocking of Erio. It's not enough, though. I'm sure Shouko will get her chance in Phase II or III.
Yuuki Asuna, Takanashi Rikka, Kuroyukihime and Yui (SAO) make winning look easy as always.
And so does Kanade against significantly more powerful opponents. Will anyone be able to stop her this year?

I STILL don't see C.C. as moe in the slightest, but I know that is merely my opinion.
Kanade hopefully will have a tougher year... similarly, I find her significantly less moe than other competitors she will face.
