True but I suppose as an American who has more than an abundance of good representations it bothers me less than a country stereotypes that is misrepresented in the media already.
Japan is a mostly homogenous country so the stereotypes aren't exactly surprising but that doesn't make them any less unfortunate.
The African American stereotypes are problematic for the same reason.
