I know and I absolutely understand Log Horizon is a better anime, better character too.
But somehow it lacks something, I don't know why. Its a good anime but ......
Popular and interesting doesn't mean it must be an excelent stuff. Oscar winning movies are usually much boring than occasional Blockbuster / popular box office movie. ( Although some winning movie can be both excelent and popular, but not much )
