If I'm not mistaken, aren't they just poking fun at themselves like always? Gintama is HUGE in Japan, the piles of merchandise they have of it at stores like Animate should tell you something about it. Although they do have a point in saying that they're up against other Shounen Jump giants like Naruto, Bleach and One Piece
