A stark contrast to the new era of IS which have been armed with lasers and plasma weapons. This can become interesting when someone developed an AC, armed with powerful energy weapons or energy barriers, the become near equals against the "Angels". The "metallic devils" who will bring forth the four horsemen in their own form.

The mercenary arrival at the world also spawned several competitors, Mirage despite part of the newly formed Vertex world order still wanted to maintain control of the world. Even if it means manipulating the world's social hierarchy. A Mirage Raven by the name of "Empyrean" rises and announce himself as one of Magi's honor guards. In reality he is ensuring that Magi does not carry out any plans to expand Crest's influence while doing everything to expand Mirage's influence. Mirage had a massive advantage over Crest, the world seeks to develop powerful energy weapons and forgoing ballistic weaponry. However, their MT support teams are weak, despite the weakness of the MTs, the humanoid MTs are an ideal weapon used by MT Terrorists as the MT-09E-OWL has ECM mounted inside their mechs, providing a constant source of pain for any IS that relies on visual to take down. A well coordinated MT Strike "Company" (a 5 MT squadron) can hold off an IS long enough to pull either an escape or complete their objective.

Regardless of the MT however, the real deciding factor of war now depends on Ravens for conventional warfare and IS for total warfare.
