Use waited optimization.. (or whatever it was called)
It is quite simple.. you can select regions and specify that they should not be optimized..
I'm sure I mentioned how to do it somewhere.. anyway it evolves creating a channel and then in the optimization window Square-Circle icon.. for .jiffs you got one for the Color-Reduction-Method, Loosy and Dither (I think)
That should solve your problem..
Oh and the sig is just right, only complaint is your name.. nothin' wrong with it except you probably should have gone for smooth (looks to me like you have it on sharp).. IMO it's better to optimize text for looks rather then readability.. as long as people can read it it's fine.. they' only gonna read it once anyway.. and look at it as a glyph in your sig 99.99% of the time...
