It's not just because of that. The henshin scene is just one of many.
Also, I did not say it's bad, but it's not to my taste. I think it's a huge difference. As for the episode writers, you can find all the relevant information in the ANN site. For the future episodes of S2, I posted it in the spoiler thread.
