They
do like him, they trusted him to be a personal butler for her and hope they get closer. The only problem they have is the fact that he seems to have cases of insubordination. In truth, he was just defending Kanzashi when her instructor kept insulting her for not being as good as Tatenashi. Of course, the Instructor would make it sound like she was the victim.
Side note - Probably gonna be even worse for Irish in Shadow since he isn't exactly perfect aprtner material. He's even younger that Tatenashi for starters
