Of note is that Shu's void measurement could not be measured. Inori's measurement was over 2000; hence, I believe that the theory Shu can pull his own void is now not possible, since it does not register.
As for why someone asked earlier that the students only checked on girls, it is possibly because they were horny bastards interested in taking off girls' clothing.
