1 year would be more than enough of a time skip.
Saints existed ages ago so they could explore them without the skip.
There is no need to skip 7 years in order to learn more about Acnologia.
Once again remain of Grimoire Heart could be explored without skipping 7 years.
Really, 7 years were not necessary for most of those points.
