Just watched Episode 1, and boy was it fun!
Spoiler for Episode 1:
I've only skimmed through Vol. 1 of the Mamoru-kun light novel, but the anime version surely got me hooked from the beginning.
Seeing Ayako, the beatrice wielder, confess to Mamoru-kun, who just transferred into the school, at the school gate was an eye-opener, as it was different in the novel.
Although Ayako is labelled as a megadere (mega tsundere), her tsun side is expressed towards the other students, while she is totally deredere towards Mamoru-kun, which is quite cute, but doesn't fit the typical tsundere archetype. However, Ayako's superhuman power was nicely portrayed.
Episode 1 is more like setting things up, with Mamoru-kun and Ayako, the Student Council, and the break-ins that have been occuring (Yuka showing some suspicious behavior). There is no opening song (although the light hearted Tomita Maho song probably didn't fit in from the beginning, or there's a bunch of spoilers in the sequence).
There are overloads of Ayako fanservice shots, probably more than necessary, since Mamoru-kun isn't the type to react to it.
The voice acting was very good, especially the two protagonists: Kimura Akiko (Mamoru, who also voiced Rockman), and Takahashi Mikako (Ayako, who also did Rodoreamon in Simoun and Rika in Hantsuki). The two also had roles in Mai-Otome (Youko and Rosalie, respectively). You can also enjoy a different Noto Mamiko type of voice in Shione as well.
24 episodes should be long enough for some good plot development. The artwork was smooth, so I look forward to this series with great anticipation.
