Because Gundam Wing had more squealing fangirls than any other Gundam shows. I don't think older UC Gundams had the same thing. One fact that everybody don't want to hear about: Gundam Seed is better than Wing. In fact it was Seed that makes me to watch older, better Gundam shows.
