... are you joking? the cursed parakeet/cockatiel was in both manga and anime. It led to Shrieker being introduced. Which later led to Hell being introduced.
And no, Chad isn't very vocal with his other group of friends either. It's just his personality to be quiet and brooding.
I'm
sure it's mentioned he's in a band somewhere. And one of Chad's friends is like an older, goofier version of Keigo. (And he was whining about buying meat from the grocery store, or something? This might be the part right before where Chad first gets his powers, during the Quincy/Ichigo showdown. Or something.)
