SilverSyko: Black Rock Shooter pertains to the titular character whose main weapon shoots rocks.

Angelic Layer- As opposed to a demonic layer. It might actually be an Angelic Lair, which probably refers to the field where Angels fight on.

B'tX- did you just fall asleep on the keyboard or something? B't (beat) is a term used to describe the "machines" used by the fighters there. The protag Teppei Takamiya's B't is called X.

Betterman- As opposed to Worseman. Wikipedia says "The titular hero of the series, Betterman, is a life form of superior physical and mental capabilities...", thus Betterman is better than the usual human lifeform.

Bleach- Because when I think shinigami with swords, I think laundry! Wikipedia says "The series was originally meant to be named "Black" due to the color of the Soul Reapers' clothes, but Kubo thought the title was too generic. He later tried the name of "White," but came to like "Bleach" more for its association with the color white and that he did not find it too obvious."

Brave King GaoGaiGar- Nice name, "King" Original name is Yuusha no Oh GaoGaiGar, so it's supposed to mean "King of Heroes GaoGaiGar".

Bubblegum Crisis- How is that supposed to make any sense? "Bubblegum" carries the connotation of femininity, and ties up with the fact that the operators of the powered suits are girls or women.

City Hunter- Is hunting those legal in this state? It's in the sense of "Hunter in the City". The protag is a hired gun, although his missions involved taking down syndicates or bad guys in particular.

D-Gray Man- Is this supposed to make any sense? see amaterasu4's post.

DearS- Mircosoft Help: You appear to be writing a letter. I'd recommend learning to use the space bar and finishing the name of the recipient. Wikipedia says, "150 humanoid aliens are naturalized into Japanese society and affectionately nicknamed "DearS"; a portmanteau of the words "Dear" and "Friends"."

Dragon Half- I suppose half a dragon is better than just its balls! Main character is a half-dragon. Wikipedia says, "Much of the manga contains references to role-playing games and occasionally either other manga or anything that begins with the word dragon."

Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventures- Isn't one Parallel Trouble Adventure isn't enough? Dual! is the main title, and the PTA is a subtitle.

eyeshield 21- What happened to eyeshields 1 through 20 Sena Kobayakawa, number 21 of the Devil Bats football team, wears an eyeshield to protect his eyes when he is performing his high-speed maneuvers.

Fate/Stay Night- Is this supposed to have some sort of meaning? It's Engrish for "That Fated Night You (Saber) Stayed Here (Shirou's house).

Fruits Basket- English grammar, do you use it? See the game Fruits Basket Turnover.

Gosick- Engrish for Gothic. Although the period has just left the Victorian age and is nearing the modern age.

Gungrave- Like that tomb that was actually filled with firearms in Terminator 3? The main protag is named Beyond the Grave, formerly Brandon Heat. He sports a pair of guns that have a grave design on it.

Guyver- Minus the Mc, and the improvised escapes. The Guyver, in this case, is a powered suit worn by the main character, among others.

Hayate the Combat Butler- Guy can't be doing to well- not much demand for combat butlers in the current economy. Hayate is actually a combat butler. He kicks ass.

I My Mi! Strawberry Eggs- Eggs come in strawberry flavor? Sweet! Strawberries pertain to femininity, while eggs are a boy's "family jewels". The main char is a boy who is forced to crossdress to be admitted as a teacher to a school with a misandrist administration.

Ikkitousen Xtreme Xecutor- Xtraneous X's The sequels of Ikkitousen have subtitles with two words starting with the same letter.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventures- Very bizarre indeed. And fabulous.

Kill Me Baby- Actually quite fitting. That's what I think every time I hear the opening. The girl protag is friends with an assassin. And since this is a comedy, black comedy ensues between the two.

Legend of the Legendary Heroes- Redundancy of the Redundant Redundancy The story is supposed to be about the legend of the legendary heroes.

Little Busters!- Like smaller versions of the crash dummy on Mythbusters? They're supposed to be crimebusters or something close to that.

Lovely Complex- That's a lovely complex you have there. Complex here carries the same meaning as that of "lolita complex".

Madlax- Looks like it belongs in a drug store next to the Exlax and Metamucil! Madlax is the name of one of the characters there.

Magical Angel Creamy Mami- What, this isn't about Mami from Madoka getting covered in whipped cream? see Shyni's post.

Maria Holic- Your addicted to Maria? Pretty much.

MM!- You mean this isn't a candy? Double the masochism.

Needless- That title doesn't make me want to watch this. The people who live in the Dark Spot are considered as "unneeded" by the people outside, so they are called Needless.

One Piece- I'm partial to bikini's myself They say it's a treasure. Three million chapters later, they still haven't reached it.

Penguin Girl- So is this kinda like Ika Musume? The female protag is nicknamed "Penguin" due to her hairstyle and it doesn't help that her surname literally reads as "south pole".

Pumpkin Scissors- Are these what you use to carve Jack-o-lanterns? The series focuses on the Imperial Army State Section III, also known as the Pumpkin Scissors unit, in a war period setting.

Rental Magica- Rent a Mahou Shoujo? Yes. You nailed it on the head.

S-Cry-Ed- Not random enough for sleeping on the keyboard. The word "scry" means "To predict the future using crystal balls." There is an emphasis in the word "CRY".

Saber Marionette- Is it a puppet that doubles as a sword or a puppet with a sword? Any puppet that has combat capabilities.

School Rumble- What exactly rumbles in this anime? The school, due to the antics of its students.

Science Ninja Team Gatchaman- It's ninjas... WITH SCIENCE! Why not?

Speed Grapher- Sounds like a spreadsheet program. Speed is due to the intense nature of the series, while Grapher comes from the male protag's occupation as a former war photographer.
Great! That should have blasted that darn Frodo to smithereens.

I think this thread is just here for people to take stones and fling it at the littlest flaw they find in a show they find as "bad". Someone should take this down, it's worthless.
