Spoiler for parts of v11:
v11 explores Kirino and Kyousuke's childhood in more details - how the siblings used to have a great relationship (young Kirino does some fo the cutest things!), but Kyousuke pushed her away over time because it is "uncool". One scene I remember is how Kyousuke ditched Kirino in the middle of no where by telling her that he will bring Kirino along to where he is going if she is able to keep up with him - and this became a factor of Kirino doing track.
The romance of the volume comes from Kyousuke trying to get a classmate of his (Sakurai - I forgot the name when I orginally wrote this) to go to school upon the request of someone in his class (he was the class rep and wanted to play the hero). The problem child used to be a model student who is also an ojousama-turned-shut-in. Eventually Kyousuke succeed and the girl started attending class on an irregular basis.
Later on Kyousuke brought the girl along to the school trip by forging her parent's signature (they were away at the time). Unfortunately right before the girl can confess (1) to Kyousuke she fell and broke her leg, causing the school trip to be cancelled prematurely. Kyousuke was forbidding to see the girl and the girl was forced to transfer elsewhere. Meanwhile, Kyousuke had to take on the pressure from the entire class for ruining the school trip (that was probably the darkest hours of Kyousuke's life). Manami eventually got mad at the class and knocked some sense into their heads - as afterall all Kyousuke did was fulfill their selfish requests.
In present times Kyousuke was able to find the girl over a game's social platform. They met up once more and the girl took the opportunity to confess but was rejected by Kyousuke. He said something along the lines of "My answer is the same, three years ago or today" "I am sorry, there is already someone I like".
I talked about those lines in an earlier post, as it may greatly reduce the number of candidates to two: Either Kirino or Manami, and at that particular time frame I don't think Kyousuke has the interest in Kirino to reject the confession from another girl... which leaves only Manami.
ofc, it is possible for him to like someone completely different but remain unrequited and over time the role changed to one of the current heroines.
(1) The actual confession: (skipping some lines)
S: "You are a very annoying person."
S: "What is it? You wanted me to say 'this scene is beautiful! I am deeply touched!' That sort of thing?"
S: "But I acknowledge with your passion. You must remember, not everyone will be thankful just because you have done all sorts of things for them. This is an advice from Sakurai."
K: "...all the things that I have done for you, it really is none of my business, is it?"
S: "baka"
"baka baka baka, not only are you an annoying person, you are also a huge idiot"
K: "Please clarify in a way that I can understand!"
Then she fell. (She was going to tell him how much she liked the scenery and confess to Kyousuke).

As subtle as I perceive it to be, Manami can be surprisingly manipulative. While she may have saved Kyousuke from being overly depressed, her powerful words also changed both Kyousuke and Kirino and caused them drift apart indirectly. While what she said is true, somewhere within me just do not like what she has done.
Instead of making Kyousuke "normal" like herself. Something along with Sakurai's advice of "not everyone will appreciate what you have done" might be more suitable.
Then in present times the old Kyousuke is starting to appear again... I think this is another factor of why Kirino is developing stronger feelings towards Kyousuke: not only is he being quite nice to her, but once again she sees the shadow of the "hero Kyousuke" whom she admired.
