Well yeah, I tend to not give early episodes high ratings but Suzumiya Haruhi is an exception. I can't remember the last time a show made me this hyped about. Not even last year's Zettai Shounen and Kamichu! or School Rumble were on such a level.

I understand what you mean; this series has generated new levels of anticipation for me, and breathed some life into what I feared was becoming a stale industry.
