What a hard question, because depending of the country, right and left differs a lot. Most european right party could be considered as socialist from an north american view.
The two above more or less resumed everything, I personally use Social Darwinism to explain the right side policy but social hierarchy is indeed better.
But even then, it flucutuates a lot between countries, for example nationalism, which mostly belongs to right side parties is very different from Japan to France.
