First impressions last the longest?
The fan art showing them being similar is just satire on the Kugimiya/tsundere typecast. If you can't tell the real Shana and Taiga apart... uhm... don't know what to tell you.
You see her with the boken in the OP, so it is a regular "fixture" for her.
