Kanbaru's books are all
yaoi--that is, homosexual romances between men. Why Kanbaru is into yaoi when she herself is a lesbian may or may not be worth thinking about; Araragi's accusations toward Kanbaru in this episode involved pointing out that yaoi is actually a fairly common interest/fantasy for adolescent girls nowadays and that, most of the material in Kanbaru's being in fact fairly vanilla upon closer inspection, she just might not be as perverted as she tries to say she is.
