That looks like the result of a great Ri Maajon to me. The Gate of a New World.
Add LimoDomi and their simoun and we are up to strength for any Ri Maajon. But apparently the Emerald can be done even by a single simoun.
They might save the pilot of the simile, but I don't expect it. This is war, and this is a show that does not shrink from the extreme. After all, we lost Amuria, who appeared to be a main character, in the first episode. I'd not seen that before. The show makes us feel the full horror and joy of life and death.
I do think it slightly possible that Chor Tempest may discover Mamiina, since it is flying toward her home. But I am not horrified by her present beautiful situation. A couple of religious traditions expose dead bodies, maybe as a way of consecrating them to god.
I am so glad we have enough episodes left for the end not to be rushed. If we enter a new world in the next episode, here at a moment of high emotion, we have six episodes for a proper denouement and conclusion, rather than the cheap end-on-a-climax that is normal in TV drama.
And I keep coming back to the word "Simulacrum." What makes Kyuukoku a simulacrum, if it is? And Onashia, who is everywhere and nowhere, seems to favor Plumbum as much as Kyuukoku. Why? Who is she? What is going on? I was impressed by her appearance on Arcus Prima. I doubt anyone but Yun saw her and her attendants, whose costumes, and whose protection of her, were impressive.
The Ri Maajons for Mamiina really had the effect on me of prayers. There was joy, pain, love, and transfiguration in them.
Having watched this ep again, my admiration is undiminished. No show has ever been this powerful and emotionally extreme, as far as I know. The outlandish setting and human background, so painstakingly built up, make incredible events and emotions possible for those of us who have been able to accept it and travel with it this far. I've never seen ratings like those on animenewsnetwork.com: many call Simoun a masterpiece, many call it so-so or even bad. I regret that some people were put off by the setting or the drama and are missing out on the greatness. You see this admixture of discordant posts on 2channel, too.
