The second point is the magic items are much like the lost magic.. an unknown factor and whenever faced with an unknown factor they tend to lose. But they were in Edolas for a while and should at least remember separate the enemy from there weapon and they will be helpless.
With innate magic the power of there magic is based on the power of the wizard and can eventually run dry but the artifacts/item magic does not seem to have that limitation they do not get weaker but remain constant in power so while an innate wizard tires the user of an artifact magic is not tiring or exhausting at all.
No coco was they said running so fast they could not see her anything moving that fast would need time to change direction so if a wall of any sorts pops up in front of you your not going to be able to stop or change direction immediately. Problem was Windy was aiming to hit her not block her that would be a different tactic and hopefully next time they meet she will think of that strategy.
