Not promising, sigh. Some of the my favorite aspects of Eureka Seven were in the setting and general world-building -- the world was a bit over-built, I think, b/c they were hoping to turn it into a full-on franchise -- so I was a bit disappointed chapter 1 didn't have any signs of being *set* in the E7 universe.
Even just a single coral pillar off in the distance would've been a pleasant surprise. Maybe the "Chrono Cross" vibe was right: "Okinawa" will be the E7 universe's isolated, isolationist Iran, somehow? Ao and Nirvash striking back at the great satan?
